Sometimes we get into a rut and the way to break the plateau is to get out of the rut. Shake up your menus with new foods, new recipes, a new meal structure. Shake up your activity with new exercises or a new time for exercise. Your body might be "used" to the same old things and needs a change.
It might also help you to check to be sure you are doing what you think you are doing. Weigh and measure your food, use a pedometer, time your activity. I know that my brain likes to err on the side of fun and pleasure and my eyeballed half cup might be twice as much as what I thought I had.

In 2013 I decided to commit to 100 hikes/ walks ( that doesn't include treadmill time ) for a yearly goal in 2014 ...so far its going great ...in fact I'm thinking of challenging myself to 100 days of doing something new or different like learning to play tennis , kickboxing , or eating fruit etc ...I'm going for 100 day streak :) whatever that may be
NEW Sparkers-Take Baby Steps To a New Habit,Lifestyle!!!!
It is said it takes 21 consecutive days of doing something new for it to become a habit. I disagree--I think it takes longer and you have to WANT to do it. When I joined sparkpeople, I KNEW it would take me MUCH LONGER to get USED TO TRACKING my food, fitness, and navigating my way around the site.
I didn't track ANY food the first day, nor tracked ANY fitness for a few days, just familiarizing myself with everything. To new sparkers that's what I say--Take your TIME,don't expect results right away, but when you do eventually start tracking,BE CONSISTENT-EVERY DAY! I'm a few lbs. near GOAL now...
I know the only way to get improved results in life is by trying something new and different from the old standard behavior. By changing your mindset, you can accomplish this, embrace a new attitude, it can be uplifting. If you continue to do the same thing and have always done something a certain way...you will always get the same results. Try something different, it can be refreshing and revitalizing!
