Shinny objects just don't work on dogs and kids! Many of us eat when we need comfort for a variety of reasons stressed, angry, tired and many others. Identify the issue and acknowledge it so you can own it. Have a "distraction" ready to help distract you from the issue once identified.
"Distractions" can be anything that do just that, distract you. A favorite song, game or movie. A place that calms and settles you, a memory book that takes you to a happy memory. Use these to get through the adjustment time when making these lifestyle changes, so food is not your go-to comfort.
