Using a sleep mask ($4 at walmart) and also some over the counter melatonin ($7 at walmart) will help when insomnia is bad or you are a day sleeper and can't rest. It is safer than sleeping pills since it is a natural element in your normal system and you won't have that groggy feeling when you wake up.
I really need a snack before I sleep because I can't sleep if I'm hungry. I usually eat dinner quite early. I found that I can eat a very small snack if I drink two glasses of water first.
