I recently bought a nice cotton dress, knowing it was too tight on my love handles. So I keep it on a hook facing the desk where I usually snack (I'm a college student, living in a broom closet) so I can always see it. I really like the dress, and I need to lose about 5 pounds to look good enough to wear it out.
Leaving it out makes me visualize how those extra chocolates would make me look in the dress.

One way I make sure I clock my exercise minutes is to plug in my goal time into the machine and tell myself I can get off whenever I want. That way there's no pressure, but I have my goal in sight. I usually end up staying on the whole time and I feel great about it in the end.
Don't compare your achievements to someone else's achievements
The main thing that I have learned is to not compare myself to someone else. It's extremely easy to lose focus when you know someone who has started the program after you and has lost more weight. Keep your goals in sight and don't worry about anyone else.
Just know that some people lose weight easier than others. Comparing yourself to others is a definite way to get you off track. Focus on what you desire, know that sometimes you will slip and fall, but make sure YOU decide how you want to finish the race. Others are just characters in your book.
I have learned the hard way I am in fact well, human. As obvious as that might sound or be many times we as humans do not want to admit we are fallible. I don't care how hard you try to eat right and exercise there will be temptations.
Don't blame yourself for boo-boo's. For cheating and eating something you may shouldn't have. Spend the time you would have spent being made at yourself getting back on track and keeping your goals in sight. Remember you are human and no one expects any less.
