I was on a five week plateau and tried everything to shake it off. It wasn't until I focused on nutrition, that the scale started to move. I met with a nutritionist and learned that the most efficient way to boost the nutrients is through drinking a smoothie every morning. After two weeks, I lost an additional 4.5 pounds!

    Funny~Just finished drinking a Monster 'green drink' .... loaded w/ veggies! I do this often, & find a drink in the afternoon that 'flushes' .... like making my own V-8 juice helps! ......... tks for sharing! ...

    I think I am going to try the smoothies suggestion and the napping or going to sleep in the afternoons, I need the rest I seem to have a touch if insomnia I think this will help me in many ways. Thank you for the feedback. I was drinking smoothies at one time and I lost 35 pounds in no time. But it was my fault I gave up and ended gaining all the weight back and more, and here I am.

    I recently watched the "Weight of the Nation" series of documentaries produced by HBO. This "insight" is from one of the documentaries - apparently the body doesn't recognize liquid calories as calories, just fluid intake. Thus drinking your calories can damage your weight loss efforts.

    Interesting. Many people are afraid to drink fruits and vegetables because they think that they are gaining. But it makes sense, juice might pump the nutrients right into the blood stream.

    that is so interesting - I always thought of smoothies as dense calories, and tried to stay away. Congratulations on getting the scale to move again! Good call to meet with a real nutritionalist.
