As the unofficial queen of plateaus, I can tell you this: Ditch the Scale. Put it outside in the garage and leave it there for a few weeks. Switch up your routine somewhat. Do more weights, do less cardio or vice versa. Eat breakfast for dinner. Just do something different.
Do not get discouraged. I was on a plateau that last nearly six months (yes, six months) but I kept at it. When it broke, it broke quickly. I lost 4 pounds in one week and an additional six pounds in the following 4 weeks. Frustrating yes, but don't give up. Patience wins this race.

I rarely step on the scale anymore. My measuring tape is a much better indicator of my progress. Since muscle weighs more than fat in one's body and takes up less space, inches reduced tells a better story than a simple weight number. If the scale hasn't budged *and* I've lost a few inches, obviously I'm shedding fat and gaining muscle. So ditch the scale and get out your measuring tape once a month.
I say ditch the scale, so many people rely on that scale saying they have to look at it everyday, every other day, then get depressed when it stops moving, or moves up the slightest bit, so I look at it once at week, usually at the end of the week, first thing in the morning. I expect nothing, that way I am not disappointed by any possible weight gain (muscle weighs more than fat). That is how I stay motivated to keep going, so far it has worked for me, hopefully this will be of some help.
