Since me, my husband, and our daughter all pack a lunch every day, we were going through a LOT of ziploc bags. I switched to reusable plastic containers; this saves money PLUS keeps needless plastic from going into the landfill.

I was NOT a vegatable eating up until three months ago. Yes, I would eat FROZEN broccoli but that was minimal until I discovered Ziploc Steam Bags. I now ONLY buy fresh vegatables & can't get enough of them. Putting ANY vegatable in these bags & microwave them they taste just like gold!
The Ziploc Steam Bags come in several sizes.
I cook a whole pound of spaghetti or rice at once and freeze it in single serving sizes. This saves me time at night and I don't have to worry about how much dry spaghetti or rice to cook to get 1 serving -
I freeze it in self-sealing plastic bags (like Ziploc) and use a permanent marker to label the bag with the contents, quantity, and date -
I freeze pre-measured bags of frozen fruit and label them with the amount of calories per bag. We sneak them into the movie theaters for a cheap and healthy snack or just empty into the blender for an on-the go smoothie.
Example: 1 small ziploc freezer bag of strawberries, pineapple, blueberries, and peaches has about 125 calories...great for a movie date snack!
