I started running at age 61, after having had knee problems when I was 80 pounds heavier. At first I just ran a few steps with my grandkids and added a few running steps to my Walk Away the Pounds videos. I didn't actually do a Couch to 5K (C25K) program, but I bet it would be a great way to do it.
So unless a doctor has told you not to run or your body is telling you "not today" due to some injury, try a few steps. You may surprise yourself!!
