Getting salad dressing on the side is a no brainer when trying to eat better, but often the containers they bring out contain more dressing than they would have put on the salad in the first place! Dip your fork into your dressing before getting a bit of salad. That way every bite has a bit of dressing, but you save lots of calories. I can generally eat an entire dinner salad with 1 tsbp (or less) of dressing this way.
I hate salads without salad dressing. And so, I split every new bottle of dressing into two bottles and add malt vinegar to each. It saves a lot of money on salad dressing, thins the dressing so that it coats better, and cuts my salad dressing calories in half.
