As much as possible, I take the stairs at work and add stair trips at home. If I have several things to take upstairs or downstairs at home, I break it into manageable chunks and make more trips up and down the stairs. At work, unless I am carrying something that I couldn't manage on the staircase (which really isn't all that often) I take the stairs. Our staircases at school are extraordinarily steep, so this is almost a workout all by itself!
I take the stairs every time I can. I work in a building with a lot of floors and have meetings all over the place, so I take the stairs up and down to every meeting and use the restroom on a different floor so I can get in a few extra steps. When I can't take the stairs (running late, walking with other people, etc) I make time later in the day to take the stairs however many floors I missed.
