I LOVE poached eggs for breakfast and a fast and easy way to poach them is in the microwave. I get a bowl and fill it about 1/3 with water and heat it for 2 minute in the microwave. I then crack open two eggs into the water and microwave for another minute. Once done, I gently pour out excess water and then add salt and pepper to taste. YUM!
I especially love poached eggs over quinoa and herbs or mixed with crumbled saltines.

I have always been a fried egg eater. Knowing fried is not good I tried to poach some eggs and I discovered that poached is not only better for you but BETTER! I don't have to try to flip it without breaking the yoke, there are no gross hard yucky edges and it is easier to tell when it is done. Also, I get lots of protein without the added fat. My new favorite egg! 334
To make a poached egg (or two!) just boil enough water to cover the egg and slide the egg into the boiling water. (I have found a skillet works best but small saucepans work too) Give it about 3 minutes (longer if you like the yolk hard) and your egg is poached and ready to eat.
If you hate the messiness of poached egg strings then this is the product for you. Crack an egg into these "pods", place in a pan with 1 1/2" water, cover and cook for 4 minutes and there you have it, perfectly cooked poached eggs! 490
You can find them at Bed, Bath and Beyond or online kitchen stores. $9.99 for 2 pods...well worth it if you love poached eggs. They also work great for breakfast sandwiches.
Whenever I eat protein, like a soy patty or lean turkey sausage, with my bkfst, as opposed to whole grain cereal/oatmeal and fruit, I am fuller and more satisfied longer. Both types of meals are still 300 calories, but I am more satisfied with protein. It helps me stay on track.
