Trick Yourself Into Exercising When You Don'T Feel Like It

Set your goal to just work out for at least 10 minutes - and do it even when you don't feel like it. It's only 10 minutes, right?!? It's not going to kill you!
For me - when exercising I get energized. If I trick myself (even consciously) into JUST getting started - that 10 minutes can easily stretch to an hour or more. On those days that I just can't get with it - at least I get 10 minutes in.

When I have a pile of clutter that needs organizing, or a tedious job I dislike doing, I set a timer for 15 minutes. I tell myself I must only work that long. Every time I end up working much longer--sometimes even finishing the job!
This "trick" works for exercise too!
Find a way to help yourself to deal with stress and give your mind and body a break. I find that my exercise in the pool does this very well. My son likes to run. My daughter likes to sing. Find the way that takes over your thoughts and gives you relief.
I would like to tell you exactly what to do, but each of us needs our own outlet. For me it is something I can sink my mind, body and focus into completely--for others it is a way to become absorbed using one or more of their senses completely.
