Listening to the good and the bad...should I or shouldn't I workout? Normally I'll say okay, I'll do just 30 minutes today, but once I get moving I always end up doing 45 minutes and feel so good afterwards..when I give in to the bad side of my thoughts, then I feel like crap for not getting in my workout..go for the good!
Fact: Heart Attacks are the #1 killer of Americans. Check out the American Heart Association's web-site. The food we consume affects our LDL cholesterol levels (the bad) and our HDL (the good) Foods high in saturated fat, & hydrogenated fat cause plaque to build up in our arteries...which in turn can cause angina (pain) in your heart and possibly even a heart attack. We not only have to worry about the amount of calories we consume, but the quality. Complex carbs=good, Simple carbs=bad.
Also, if heart disease runs in your family, I would recommend having a stress test. Ask your Doctor. In particular, if you suffer from Angina with high fat foods or stress; any shortness of breath, or if you have high blood pressure.
