If you want to avoid the fast-food, convenience store grabs AND set yourself up for longer-term health and success, I PROMISE if you try this for even a week you'll be glad you did!!! And the best news, ice pack not required - mix & match the following for a carb/protein combo based on what you like: dried fruit, h20, sardines, gf crackers with peanut butter, raisins, apples, bananas, organic cereal bars, kale chips, walnuts, brazil nuts, unsw apple sauce, ginger snaps and so much more! emoticon

MORE INFORMATION:
I usually reserve Sunday afternoons after church to prepare and organize my cooler snacks - most peaceful day in our house of the week for sure. The kids help sometimes too and are (slowly) opening up possibilities to try new, healthy cooler foods each week.

    I never leave home without something in my pocketbook. I buy peanut butter or cheese crackers, nuts, fruits or even a granola bar. Just something to help me get by until I can eat a regular meal.

    This is a great idea, I just went to my storage bldg. and got my small igloo my dad bought me when I got my tonsils out at 18 yrs old. This will be great to help me get back on track. emoticon

    Thanks for a great tip! We do this when we take a long trip, but more and more I find the need for packing something even when we go shopping for several hours. Fast food does me more harm then good.

    This sounds good for when traveling. We never knew what to pack for my diabetes so we usually just stopped along the way and bought snacks and it usually worked out it was something I should not eat. emoticon

    I luv this TIp, /Secret of Success, i shall try this, as with my Type, 2 Diabetes i never, know what to have, /eat/buy, etc etc etc etc, & i alway's end, up buying 'Junk Food', etc etc etc etc, or trying a New, /Whacky/Crazy, Diet etc etc etc. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

    I do not eat dried fruit as it is concentrated with sugar, nor do I eat anykind of cereal bars and I have had good steady blood sugar now for almost 3 years. ...but I agree coolers are great.
