If you have a smart phone...download the free apps. You can always find great applications (ex. Spark People, Yelp, Goby, Mint.com, Flixter, the list goes on and on) for FREE. Many apps also have "lite" versions - (Shazam, Words Free). Save your $1. Buying a regular phone saves you even more!
I use Pandora on my smartphone. That way, I can check emails and text messages while I'm walking. I feel productive, and get my walk in at the same time! I also love a new app that tracks your time/mileage by using GPS! I was amazed that it even tells you altitude, and average speed.

Many of us have phones that can access the web and or apps that connect us to spark people. USE THEM! i've found that i can track my food more efficiently when i have an easy portable way to do so. it's helped me to break off my plateau by tracking my food. 2 birds with 1 stone.
the 'best' phones for this are Android or Iphone as they have app capability, but other internet ready/able phones can do it too.
