This past week has been the BEST for me and I am SURPRISED I have lost weight without tracking on paper! I have three years experience on SP with tracking my Nutrition so I know what to do and I STILL measure my food, not eyeball it! But though I lost the wt. with the Nutrition tracker through SP, I am learning if I DO NOT exercise AT LEAST 30 minutes a day, WATCHING VERY CAREFULLY what I EAT, I will gain the weight lost back. I have lost 20 lbs. through SP in 5 mos.
and slowly gained 11 back over 3 years. I am now down 3 lbs. this WEEK due to eating properly and allowing for the sweet ,but EXERCISING ahead of time and that burns it off. Note: MY BMR [Basal Metabolic Rate] is at 1819 right now WITHOUT any exercise.I still say stay with the Nutrition Tracker !

Try to keep your clothes current to your weight/size
Before I got into sparkpeople, I just wore XL or XXL clothes as a blanket "solution" to the problem. Now I always look for clothes that are a great fit, and not just bigger than what I really am. This has helped me at the very least maintain my weight loss, because of course if I gain too much weight the new clothing will be unusable in public. I've stalled out on the exercise and weight loss, but I haven't gone backwards.
Let's face it; this is the Honor System here~ (anyone can post anything) We're only cheating ourselves if we're not completely honest with the weight loss ticker, by being sure to input each week both the losses AND the gains. Leaving it the same & pretending there was no gain can only lead to denial & sabotage (eventually giving up & quitting) Many people here are "back" after "re-gaining all the weight." Showing up & being accountable each week NO MATTER WHAT is key to program longevity.
I remind myself that weight loss is not a linear equation. We can do the best we can with our diet and exercise, and plateau one week, or maybe even gain a pound or two in muscle weight. I don't get discouraged as long as I know I am eating the right amounts of the right foods, and exercising well.
