I have found that being gentle with myself when I've not been able to stick to my plan has been the most effective way to bring me back on track. I make sure I say kinder things to myself when I slip up. Harsher self-talk makes the slip-up last longer.

I have a small note book that I have written down positive self-talk statements. I go over them 3 times a day and when I find myself say something unacceptable, I replace it with one of my positive self-talk statements. It really is making a difference.244 I am seeing the change in me!!
My self-talk was really bad until I thought of my inner child. Found a picture of myself at age of 5 and now when I start the abusive self talk, I remember that picture. It does make me stop and think of what I am doing to "us". Meri
