Stop buying splurgable items. I stopped buying junk food and soda, and it helps me stay on track with my daily intake on calories. I can't possibly binge on a bunch of junk if there isn't any around for me to cram down my mouth!
Take it slow, and start stopping to buy junk a little bit at a time. This way the family isn't hit hard with junk withdrawal and furious with you. Switch out the chips for nuts, cookies for apples or grapes, buy yogurt instead of icecream and so on.
When we crave junk food or desire to go on a binge eating frenzy, instead of beating ourselves up, we need to learn to ask ourselves WHY. Those desires come from somewhere & its usually not food related. Learn to ask why we want it? Recognize triggers & determine to find alternative ways to feed those triggers without the use of food. Knowledge is power & we can beat the cravings without beating ourself up!!
