Sometimes we allow our goals to be so fixated on outwardly appearance that it becomes nothing more than a fleeting hope, a goal without teeth. I try to remember that who I am, what I can do, and how I feel are so much more important than my dress size. This quote is uplifting... "If you want to be happy, set a goal that commands your thoughts, liberates your energy and inspires your hopes." --Andrew Carnegie

I find it a little easier to lose weight to set a goal like losing 5 lbs, then I will reward myself, not with food. I'll buy a dvd or cd I wanted. When I lose more I will reward myself with new clothes.208
Rewards keep you going toward your goal.
Make a solid effort to take the focus off the scale....set a goal that is meaningful for you....learning to run? set a goal to run a mile without a walk interval, enter a race, Can't do a push up to save your soul? make a goal to complete a set of ten......whatever these goals....work toward them.
workintg toward non scale related goals builds self esteem and in the process....theweight goes too
I lost my weight initially by using the diabetic exchange diet. It offered a lot of variety and I was able to work most recipes into this diet. It became a way of life and not a diet. Unfortunately, I kind of fell off the wagon, but I am back on my meal plan and I think things will start moving
