I workout at the YMCA 5 days a week. I take spin, yoga and body pump classes. I use the rowing machine for 10 min. before or after class. It has taken me 11 weeks of trying to burn 100 cal. in 10. min. That will add up to 500 cal. in a week. I have the time for that.

set a mini streak and see how many days in a row you can go. I set mine for 10 minutes of some type of exercise every day and when I am tempted to not do the 10 minutes I think of all the days in a row I would lose to have to start over again. who doesn't have 10 minutes?!
I recommend setting small and reasonable goals, with goal dates. Especially if you have a lot of weight to lose, doing this can drastically shift your calorie recommendations. This also affects your mood because instead of seeing you need to lose say 100 pounds you see that you need to lose 20. This visually aids you in not becoming overwhelmed. Think about it, what looks better that you lost 10 of 20 or 10 of 100?
Celebrate when you hit those smaller goals! You deserve it for all your hard work! Do something nice for yourself, then set a new small goal. Make sure to re-motivate yourself so you don't think you're starting all over again.
When you have a very big goal (like losing 100+ pounds) break it into smaller goals (like 10 pound increments). It's easier than losing all the weight before you reward yourself, and easier to see progress. Remember, just 2 pounds a month is 24 pounds in a year! 100, 76, 54, 28, 4.
Total 4 yrs, 4 months. One pound a week is 52 pounds lost in a year! Total 1 yr 11 months!
