Learning to water ski at 40 was really fun. I had to try and try, and I also had to be in strong physical condition to get up. I skied for 25 years and only recently have quit. But it's a "secret" of success because it reminds me to learn new things, even now and know they will bring me joy.

Free BlackBerry App to track exercise speed/distance, etc
Free download from BlackBerry AppWorld-- called EndoMondo. You can choose your activity, then it clocks you for distance, speed & you can turn on or off audio motivation & distance calls. It keeps your history, and maps of where you've been, and you can still use your MP3 function while using EndoMondo. It will also track your exercise goals. I LOVE THIS APP! it is way better than mapmyrun.com, which is what I was using before.
You can choose everything from running/walking to skiing/boarding, skating, cycling (mt. or road), kayaking, rowing, golfing, riding horseback, hiking & several more! It even has swimming, but I don't know how you'd do that with your phone in the water! LOL :)
In the winter it's harder to add variety to your exercise program. This winter try cross country skiing at your local state parks. Most parks will rent you the skies, boots and pools. This is a great cardio exercise and your whole family can participate.
