I have some serious problems with stress, and when I encounter a mega stressful situation, I first walk away (if possible physically, if not then mentally). Then I deep breathe into each part of my body, and thank that body part for supporting me. When you realize how much holds you, and is behind you all the way (strong legs, hard-working hands), you can conquer anything.

Even though breathing is an automatic reflex for each of us, did you know that during stress, people temporarily stop breathing at a normal rate? During stress and other crises, our bodies temporarily react to stress by breathing at very shallow levels. We do not stop breathing, but our bodies get less oxygen into our lungs during stressful times. Here is a great (as all SP articles are great) article from SP re how to do relaxation breathing. Yoga Deep breathing is a great way to cut the stress. Practicing breathing in Yoga, and during exercise engraves proper breathing on our beings. Then, when we are faced with stressful situations, we can easily fall into proper breathing to help us deal with the stress.414
Breathe in and out using the diaphragm, breathing through your nose.
When fighting or training heavily you can get a great rush from adrenaline. Learning to control that burst, and level it out over the length of your training while increasing your intensity can really drive your body. Some people feel nervous, as their body begins burning more energy and breathing rapidly, control your faster breathing, and feel the charge within you. Use that with a focused and disciplined mind and you can achieve amazing results.
