I have learned that my morning affirmations help reduce stress and start my day with a positive note. I get up a few minutes earlier each day and spend time with SparkCoach or a devotional book. I do this just before my morning workout or just after (depends on the day.) This is quality time I spend with myself. This only takes about 10 minutes and prepares me for the day ahead.

Every morning when I get up I begin the day with a couple daily affirmations in the mirror and then choose to repeat those affirmations throughout my day. i.e. "I am an intelligent, beautiful, competent woman who can accomplish all the I want" , "I am beautiful and can make good choices when eating"
One of my secrets to success is that I change my negative thoughts by using voice affirmations. What I do is record my affirmations on my smart phone or hand held recorder. I plug in my ear phones and listen to them when I start to notice my inner thoughts are negative. I make these recordings after I have had some sort of epiphany about myself and am alone to think it out and record. These affirmations change my thoughts to what I want them to be!
“The words we say, internally and externally, have tremendous power, yet they’re often full of doubt and fear.Converting your goals into positive statements of affirmations is another way to focus intensely.” The Spark, p. 24
I'm a big believer in positive affirmations, especially since my friend who is a neuro psychiatrist told me repeating positive (or negative) statements actually forms little groves in the brain. This then becomes your reality. So, I post affirmations in different places and repeat the affirmation
out loud when I see it. The one I'm currently working on is, "I'm learning it's okay to make mistakes." Not easy for someone who thinks she has to be perfect.
