When I set up my Goal Board, one of the little banners that pops up is "I want to reduce the stress in my life." It is a daily reminder that in addition to taking care of my fitness and eating habits, I also need to have plans that help me deal with emotional and mental stress. It makes me feel more in control and empowered to change negative situations that arise. I am a much more calm and happy person with that simple reminder every day.

I pick something 381 that is motivating for me at the moment. For example I might only let myself read a special book while working out on the stationary bike. When the book is done, I might set a new mini goal of sticking to 30 minutes of cardio 5 times a weeks for 3 weeks before I can get some cute new exercise pants. Mini goals help.
Mix it up using low or no cost motivators to keep from being bored.
