I was shocked after several days of wearing the Sparkpeople pedometer on my shoe at just how sedentary I'd become over the past several years. No wonder the pounds crept up on me! The shining stars that you earn by moving throughout the day are very pretty and are an easy way to keep track without having to count every step. I love it that if I want to know the real number of steps I can always log into Sparkpeople and know that it keeps track for me. Fun AND easy!! Woohoo!!!

This is not a secret, but is essential. Keep account of all your calories and write it down. You always eat more than you think when you try to keep track in your head. It has been studied that those who write it down succeed in weight loss 50% more!!
If using the Spark Tracker is not convenient, a good old piece of paper and pencil will work!
Before eating use your Spark Tracker to find out the nutritional numbers and know the calories you are about to consume. If the numbers are too high then make a different, healthier choice.
You can check the nutritional information before adding the food to your tracker keeping you from the need to delete later. This ability to see the calories ahead of consumption will help with healthier choices.
