Secrets of Success

Vacation Funds From Spare Change.

I never give exact change. I might dole out the pennies to only get silver coins back, but never any more than that. Every couple of days or so, I transfer the change from my purse to an opaque jar on my shelf, and when it gets too full, I roll the change and put it in a box in the closet. When vacation time rolls around, this becomes my spending money, and by saving all my change for a year, I end up with $300-$500 bucks I didn't even feel like I was saving.

More Information:

This works especially well for those of us who already keep our spending in check by leaving bills in the bank, and using cash instead of the bank card for brick-and-mortar store shopping.

Yea, I've been saving change for vacations. I give merchants dollar bills just to get change. Please lock the change up too it's amazing how it can disappear.

I took two trips to Italy on it. Also, I know some balk at the expense but AMX card helped too. You get reward points & I pay everything I can with it. Including cars with AMX credit card. The car dealer said they don't accept AMX-I walk. Then they said only 2k. on the AMX credit card. I said put 2k on two different days. It worked. AMX keeps the reward points & you can move it to an ( any) airline that has a deal going on, Shop around another credit card deal may be beneficial especially since Visa is more widely accepted. Harbor Freight ( boys tool & toy store) has really good/ inexpensive locking metal/ fireproof boxes for the change that you aren't earning interest on. - by DEEMARKJACK
