Put ankle weights and arm weights before playing wii fit, not only do you get the benefit of being active on something really fun -- but the added resistance from the ankle weights and arm weights burns more calories!
Wii fit is great for burning calories -- especially the fun run and hula hoop. You can even change channels while doing the free run :)
Do everything you need to do ahead of time for Thanksgiving on Tuesday because Wednesday (the day before Thanksgiving) is a great time for holiday shopping. The stores are almost empty, the kids don't have to do homework for the next day, and many places already have their Black Friday prices marked. (And some stores will give you the difference if the price goes down within a certain amount of time.) I used to take my nieces shopping on that day. I'd pick them up after school. (continued)
I would give them money to buy what they wanted for themselves. Then I'd wrap those items for Christmas. I'd help them choose gifts for their parents, their grandmother, etc. They'd help me pick my gifts for their parents. And we'd go out to dinner. It was always a fun night for me.
Try going to the roller rink! We took my niece yesterday, and had a great time skating with people of all ages, weights, and abilities. The music is upbeat, you work up a sweat, and laugh a lot! Even if you have never skated, give something new a try!
