I made a conscious decision to stop eating a couple hours before bedtime. It has made a tremendous difference in my weight loss efforts. I think maybe my body is more comfortable when it doesn't have to digest all night when it's already trying to be in recovery mode. Try it out!

I know this sounds weird, but it works for me to help me stop eating late at night. I work afternoons and don't get home until close to midnight. I'm not usually tired so I don't go to bed right away. I do make sure that I get ready for bed and make sure to brush my teeth. My feeling is that I really don't want to brush my teeth again so that helps me to not eat late at night. Hope this helps :)
