I noticed when I bought freshly ground peanut butter at Whole Foods that it didn't separate at all. So I finally let a small bit sit and see how long it takes to separate -- 4 months. The moral of the story is to buy it freshly ground when possible. I've found cheaper places than Whole Foods.

Place 1 T peanut butter on hot, freshly toasted whole wheat bread, then add 1 T fruit jam, or honey on top of the peanut butter. The heat from the toast and the liquid in the jam makes the smaller amount of peanut butter easy to spread and you aren't tempted to add more to get to the edges.
The easiest way to save money for me is to keep two separate bank accounts - one for all of my normal monthly bills (rent, mortgage, utilities, cable, etc) and one for the "rest". Have your work do separate direct deposits into those accounts. Figure out the most you will spend in any given month and use that for the amount into your bills' account. Anything under budget that month, put into a savings account. Some months will have nothing extra but some months will be a few hundred!
