When I decided that I had to lose weight and get healthier I had several visits with a hypnotist. We worked on helping me to commit to healthy eating most of the time, tracking what I ate, staying at my calorie goal and moving every day. This is a lifestyle change that I've stuck with since October 2011 and down 80 pounds.
While the hypnosis helped I think the real secret is not looking at this as a diet. I went on lots of diets in the past and then went off the diet and gained back the weight. For me, there are no good or bad foods. I choose to eat real food, lots of plants, and less of it most of the time.

When I get the urge to grab something to snack on, I remember a saying I learned through Positive Changes: "Appetite (craving) is of the mind; hunger is of the body." In other words, if my stomach isn't growling or empty, then my urges stem for a mental or emotional desire. That has been very helpful for me.
Positive Changes is an "hypnosis" program. I participated in the Beaverton, Oregon center.
I couldn't seem to get back on track. Just had gone through a really tough time. Finally, I started listening to my self-hypnosis tapes again, and though the power of suggestion, I am back to walking and keeping my food journal!
Hypnosis is merely putting yourself in a very relaxed state, and this allows you to accept positive suggestions. You will never do something that you don't want to do when using hypnosis, and it really helps!
