Alligator clips (like electricians use) can be kept packed in a diaper bag to provide instant bibs for your baby. Just clip a paper napkin or a wash cloth to their clothing. You can also thread cord thru the ends to create a set that looks like something your dentist uses.
For a baby gift, you can find lace or special cord to create these for new parents. http://en.wikipe dia.org/wiki/Crocodile_c lip

Remind yourself not to overeat using messages on place cards
SparkPeople recommends eating more slowly, and I've been making an effort to chew more thoroughly. To remind myself to do this, I made a little card saying, "Slow down". I attached it to a place card holder that I keep with my condiments. 4 Setting it in front of me when we sit down to eat reminds me to look at it during my meal, and I chew more thoroughly.
It is working really well: I feel full before I have overeaten.
With my place card holder, you can use both sides. On my cards I have: "Slow down"; "Chew 100 times"; "Enjoy your food"; "Put down your fork between bites." Here is the kind of place card holder I use; it has an alligator clip: http://tinyurl.com/4xxxccb
Binder clips to hold a sheer curtain behind a drape
I have drapes on my windows and sheer curtains. Rather than install a second set of screws to hold the curtains, I used binder clips on the already installed drapery holders. The smaller curtain rod easily slides through the binder clips.
A lot of today's drapery hardware juts about 3 inches out from the wall. The binder clip is placed upside down on the jutting piece and its "clips" unfolded to straight down. The gap in the clips is large enough to hold the small diameter curtain rods.
Use binder clips on your desk or dresser, clip the clip to the edge then thread your charging cord through the wire loop. This keeps them off the surface but ready to be used. At the other end (on the floor) plug in the chargers to a power strip and you are ready to go.
Binder clips are available at any office supply store and come in many sizes and colors.
