Like most people, I have my favorite TV shows. Last year I made a list of shows that I'd like to watch (either in real time or on TiVo). I made them "Must Work Out" TV shows. I hung the list next to my TV. If I found myself watching one of my "favorites" I had to have worked out that day, or I had to get up and work out WHILE the show was on. Great way to work out regularly and reward myself for working out!
I save my newest books, audio books, or favorite tv shows (on Netflix or Hulu) for when I exercise, and ONLY when I exercise. If I want to enjoy those particular activities, I have to exercise. Not only am making exercise positive, but I look forward to it. Also, a tv show with no or limited commercials is a great amount of time for some cardio! (42ish minutes)
