I keep a jump rope & a weighted hula hoop beside my couch. While watching TV I jump 50 to 100 reps ea. way & hoop for 60 sec. ea. way. I set a goal to complete this combination 3-5 times every 10-15 min. I feel refreshed and amazed at the number of calories I've burned by the end of a show!
Besides the jump rope and hula hoop, I wear my heart rate monitor to measure calories burned. On my off days, when I'm not completing a full workout routine, I'll sometimes throw in some push ups, planks, squats and lunges.
