I had goitten into a rut with exercise. I was bored and uninterested with my exercise and it was not doing as much as it was for me. I hired a trainer for 6 sessions to shake things up. She has shown me new ways to use equipment, new trends (TRX, kettle ball, etc) and encouraged me to change my
routine. She has cost me lose and gain...I have lost and toned but I have also gained more confidence and have some fancy new things to do that I enjoy that are keeping me healthy!
To avoid eating too much, just have one bite, and then go and do something else (away from where you just put away the dessert). If you can't forget about more, go and have another bite, then go do something else. Most of the time, I forget to go back for more than a bite or two.
