In The Sparks Book appendices there is a section showing exercises you can do without equipment. In the morning I do one set of those every day to get me going. Only takes 5 minutes and you don't have to have "rest" days because you are not doing multiple sets or pushing yourself.

I substitute standing lunges (10 on one leg then 10 on the other) for the odd calf raises - I'm just too clumsy to do the calf raises without falling over.

    Walking is great exercise, according to the American Heart Association and the Mayo Clinic. I'm following the walking plan in The 90-day Fitness Walking Program from the editors of Walking Magazine (1995). I'm ready for Day 5, 10 minute walk.

    photocopy the ex in book apndx, place by bedside; get up and pick one or two everyday to get moving...
