I precook almost all of my vegetables in my microwave. This is especially good for onions and root vegetables. We love onions and sauteeing them till clear is needed in many recipes. No spatter when micro-sauteed Less oil is needed. The microwave ensures greens stay bright green and attractive.

Pre-Cooking roots ensures tenderness in crock pot and uses less cook time.

If you like the speed and ease of the microwave, you should try a george foreman grill for your meats. (you could do veggies, too) It is so easy and I can cook my 4-5 oz chicken beasts in just a few minutes and take it to work in the morning so I have healthy lunch food that is grilled!

I precook all my veggies for sauces this way. It really does save on time! You can be getting the rest of the ingredients in the pot and when the veggies are ready just dump them in. No need to have 2 pots on the stove!
