So I bought a new pedometer and I just couldn't get it to register right on my waist. I don't wear lace up shoes every day so I can't tie it on to my shoe, I needed another solution. I pulled out a ribbon I had and tied it to the pedometer around the clip hinge. I then clipped it to the top of my sock and wrapped the ribbon around my leg tightly enough not to fall off and tied it there. It registers great now!
If you put elastic laces in your running shoes, you shoes will adjust automatically to your feet while running. It lowers the chance of foot injury and is much more comfortable., particularly on long runs. You can get elastic laces at medical supply stores.
