Our grocery stores use those plastic bags for your fruit and vegetables, so I save them up and use them for the garbage scraps when chopping up food for meals. I simply slip them into an empty box already headed for the trash or a bowl I have sitting on the counter. When it's full, I toss it.

Debbie Meyer Green Bags help keep all fruits and vegetables stay fresh longer! It works by absorbing and removing Ethylene Gas that is given off by fruits, veggies, and cut flowers as they ripen and rot. You can wash and reuse the bags. You get about ten uses per bag.
As a single loving my fresh fruit and veggies, I had to go with smaller quantities and frequent trips to the store to maintain my stock. Now I can buy cheaper in bulk and throw them in the green bag and they last! I can buy a bunch of bananas instead of just two or three! A time saver!
Reuse your ziplock bags until they can be used no more
I reuse any bags that I pack snacks in for myself. While I can't count on the kids to bring them back home, Hubby and I reuse them for our snacks. Give em a quick rinse and repack them for the next day when you get home. I bought a bulk box of ziplocks 18 months ago from Costco, have tons left!!
Portion - Snack Size Bags - As Soon As You Get Home
Whenever I buy a snack, for example, almonds, I weigh out and pre-package multiple snack size bags so I can just grab and go. Depending on the snack, I'll do 3-5 bags at a time. I'll throw one them in the car, purse, etc. When I'm out, I'll have something to keep me satisfied instead fast food.
Snack size bags are easier to take along instead of tupperware, but to be as eco-friendly as possible, I reuse the bags.
