Dear Old Man Winter,

Why do you keep hanging around? You go away for a few days, letting sunny skies and warm breezes fill your place, making us all very happy. And just when I think you're gone for good, you come back with a vengeance, bringing snow, cold rains, grey skies, and miserable temperatures. Not cool...

You can't keep doing this to us. I think you have outworn your welcome. Time to go away until next year so my friends spring and summer can run the show for a little while. OK? Thanks for your cooperation,

Do you feel like I do, waiting impatiently for spring to arrive? Are you tired of winter and ready for some sun? Then put a little spring into your step—and your workouts—with these sunny workout songs. Even if it's cold outside, you can enjoy some warm thoughts with these fun tunes!

2Pac – California Love

The Ataris – Boys Of Summer

The Beach Boys – Surfin' U.S.A.

Bryan Adams – Summer Of '69

Go Go's – Vacation

So I just turned on my television and a program on MuchMore Music has made me comment on this blog again.

MuchMore Music is a Canadian Music station (incorporated with Much Music) and in the morning they have a program called Juiced! which Features upbeat music videos to get your morning started.

That exactly what it says in the program info, so if you are Canadian and are up and need some music to get you going, turn on MuchMore Music!

Right now they have on Who's That Chick by Rihanna and David Guetta, great upbeat tune!

This program I believe is on every morning at 9am Eastern Time. - 3/17/2011   9:14:54 AM
Wild4stars - love those too - totally agree!

Add to that - dance version of Chritina Aguilari - Nasty and the all time Spring fever song - Groovin' the Young Rascals!
Would it really be summer without - Summer in The City - Lovin Spoonful or Brown
    Eyed Girl - Van Morrison - 3/17/2011   9:08:07 AM

this tune is one of my go-to pick-me-up songs cuz it is simply put, lyrical sunshine. enjoy!

Mony Mony by Billy Idol. I cannot sit still when that song comes on!
Jump by Van Halen is good too. - 3/17/2011   8:13:54 AM

I don't need songs about summer to get into a sunny mood -- just blast some Lady Gaga, Santogold, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Guster, or Mika, and I'm ready to dance!!

I will say though, Violent Femmes are anything BUT sunny. How about Matt & Kim's "Daylight?" It always makes me want to get dancy and my sister says they're one of the coolest, up-beat acts she's ever seen live! - 3/17/2011   6:53:56 AM

Yay, Coach Nicole! Keep up motivated and upbeat (pun intended!) Thanks for all your blogs. - 3/17/2011   12:59:43 AM

(okay, the veggie tales version, but yeah-- I'm a mom and my "exercise dance party mix" is uber kid friendly, so he'll dance with me! - 3/16/2011   4:00:44 PM

Yeah...I definitely think "Blister in the Sun" should be on an, um, DIFFERENT type of music mix. Heh. - 3/16/2011   3:18:04 PM

As I look out at the gray sky, rain coming down, and ponds so full of water that they are running over their banks.... I have to thank you for reminding me that SUMMER IS COMING!!! - 3/16/2011   1:17:43 PM
THIS IS JUST WHAT I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR!!! Thanks so much!! Btw, I found a "new" artist the other day that I love. Try Francesca Battistelli - Blue Sky. She's a Christian artist and I love the happy song!!

BTW, Violent Femmes Blister in the Sun has nothing to do with summer or sunshine! LOL - 3/16/2011   11:09:45 AM
I don't really use workout tunes, but summer music for me is always Brazilian. Takes me to my own special tropical beach - uninhabited of course! - 3/16/2011   9:50:44 AM

hmm... favorite summer songs ? Can't beat anything by the Beach Boys ! I'm a big fan of their Endless Summer album. That's back in the day when vinyl ruled. Anyone remember the Monkees ? They had great upbeat tunes. Loved Pleasant Valley Sunday. Of course, I'm dating myself now. teehee...

My favorite "sunny" song that gets me energetic for warmer weather is Summertime by Will Smith. It may not be upbeat enough for cardio but it would definitely work for strength training. - 3/16/2011   8:59:28 AM
